Questa settimana apriamo con “Gris Cenre”, primo album di lunga durata dei Lindal, duo composto da Chiara Cesano (violino) e Robi Avena (fisarmonica), che intreccia la tradizione musicale delle valli occitane con sonorità elettroniche. Ne parliamo con i due strumentisti piemontesi. Il nostro viaggio tra le musiche del mondo prosegue con “Menta selvatica” di Mila Trani, chanteuse che vive tra Milano e Barcellona, e con “La Tradition”, lavoro postumo del compianto musicista francese Gabriel Yacoub, figura storica della scena folk d’Oltralpe, che raccoglie canzoni registrate tra il 1992 e il 1994. Ci spostiamo quindi verso il Baltico per esplorare alcune delle più interessanti uscite discografiche dell’etichetta Nordic Notes: Venla Ilona Blom (“Nevrak”), Vimma (“Ei Moi Muut”), Pauanne (“Joku Raja Rakkaudesakin”), Uusikuu (“Piknik”) e Päivi Hirvonen (“Maa Palaa”). Una selezione che offre uno spaccato vivace e innovativo della scena musicale folk finlandese. Dal cuore dell’Africa australe arriva invece la vibrante antologia “Roots Rocking Zimbabwe: The Modern Sound of Harare’s Townships 1975–1980”, nostro disco consigliato della settimana: uno straordinario affresco sonoro dell’epoca d’oro della musica urbana nelle township di Harare. Nome in lingua quechua per il progetto Pacha Wakay Munan, firmato dai musicisti peruviani Dimitri Manga Chávez e Ricardo López Alcas, che in “El tiempo quiere cantar” riportano alla luce strumenti musicali di epoca preispanica, restituendoli al presente con una nuova consapevolezza estetica. Nella sezione Letture, consigliamo “Alien Water” di Ian A. Anderson, figura di riferimento per le musiche folk e world in Gran Bretagna. Per quanto riguarda i suoni jazz, trovate “Badawi”, nuovo lavoro del fisarmonicista Carmine Ioanna, mentre per la canzone d’autore poniamo l’accento sul sodalizio tra Paolo Marrone e Massimo Germini, che prende forma nell’album “Ad una stella chiederò un passaggio”. Chiude il percorso settimanale Corzani Airlines con la chitarrista e compositrice Costanza Savarese.

The project Pacha Wakay Munan, whose name is in Quechua, comes from Peruvian musicians Dimitri Manga Chávez and Ricardo López Alcas. In “El tiempo quiere cantar”, they bring ancient pre-Hispanic instruments into the present, reimagining them with a contemporary artistic approach. In the Reading section, we recommend “Alien Water” by Ian A. Anderson — a key figure in Britain’s folk and world music landscape. On the jazz side, we spotlight “Badawi”, the new release from accordionist Carmine Ioanna.
