Editor's Note
No.447’s cover story is New Landscapes’ "Menhir", the latest release inspired to Francesco Careri's "Walkscapes", which also presents original songs that explore new sound territories. We have spoken to the violinist Silvia Rinaldi, with whom we retraced their creative journey. We then deal with "Decade" from Fidil, a trio of Irish fiddlers from Donegal and propose a focus on the songwriter Elliott Morris, we met at the 2019 edition of the Andrea Parodi Award. We review his latest two albums "Lost And Found "And" The Way is Clear ". We move to Norway for the Sami musical tradition of joik revisited for modern times by Marja Mortensson with the composer Daniel Herskedal in "Lååje / Dawn". Next trip to South Korea where we meet the pansori-reggae powerful sound of NST & The Soul Sauce & Kim Yulhee (“Version”). Back to Italy for "Liscio Gelli", Mariposa’s latest, the band is well known for their collaboration with Alessio Lega. Our reading column, offers the new issue of "Utriculus", the historical magazine devoted to bagpipes, published by the Circolo Della Zampogna in Scapoli. It is therefore up to the reviews of Mina and Fossati's disc and to Max Andrzejewski’s Hütte & Guests' surprising tribute to Robert Wyatt. Valerio Corzani’s pic of Steve Albini closes this issue.
