Editor's Note
Hello and welcome to a brand new issue of Foolk Magazine. Carlo Aonzo’s unexpected mandolin opens our #429. We chat with the maestro from Savona about his new album “Mandolitaly”, an Italian journey through the country’s most symbolic melodies and songs, recorded in trio with Lorenzo Piccone on guitar and Luciano Puppo on double bass and bass and featuring numerous special guests, including Riccardo Tesi, Daniele Sepe, Agostino Marangolo and Fabio Rinaudo. The world music space opens with Flavio Poltronieri’s portrait of the Sami singer Mari Boine. We head to Mali for Oumar Konate’s “I Love You Inna". Then we offer the global world sound of Simona Eugenelo’s “Peace Sound”. Again we are on the musical paths of our Peninsula with a crop of reviews. You’ll find the debut album of Villandorme, a trio baptized by Lino Straulino’s guitar. From Sicily, instead, it comes "Liggenni", the brand new release of Mimì Sterrantino and Marco Corrao. Back to Liguria to present the new edition of “Trallalero! Il canto di Genova: storia e testi”, written by the singer and researcher Laura Parodi. Then, enjoy the guitars of Paolo Bonfanti and Martino Coppo, who have recently released their second album “Pracina Stomp”. It follows "Dada" by the pianist Roberto De Nittis. We end with Valerio Corzani’s photo, portraying Erykah Badu.
