Questa settimana iniziamo con puntata davvero speciale di #foolksession con protagonista, Luigi Lai, maestro indiscusso delle launeddas, che abbiamo intervistato nel corso del Festival “Mare e Miniere”, a margine della presentazione del documentario “Su Maistu”, a lui dedicato dal resista Gianfranco Cabiddu. Muovendo dalle tematiche della pellicola abbiamo discusso del rapporto tra allievo e maestro, dell'importanza di continuare sempre a studiare e delle potenzialità espressive delle launeddas. Proseguiamo con il ricordo di Daniel Melingo, “Me gusta no saber adónde voy” e le recensioni di “Songs of Stolen Children” del progetto Daughters of Donbas e “Sillons” del Jean-Luc Thomas Quartet. Torniamo in Sardegna con la poesia di “Liberami Dal Male” di Clara Farina, Marcello Peghin e Fulvio Bonamino, con testi di Maurizia Del Bello e la partecipazione di Riccardo Tesi. Raggiungiano Napoli con “Anime Pezzentelle” di Myriam Lattanzio. Per la live music, accogliamo la firma prestigiosa di Simon Broughton, il quale racconta il Rainforest World Music Festival di Sarwarak (Malaysia). Poi, abbiamo seguito la due giorni “La Nuit Bleue Orientale”, La Cité Bleue, Ginevra di Keyvan Chemirani & Vari Artisti. Per la rubrica jazz trovate “Ελπίδα (Elpida)” di Enten Eller & Gianluigi Trovesi, il nostro disco consigliato. Infine, lo scatto di Valerio Corzani, che ha colto l’arpista Sophie Soliveau sul palco del Punkt Festival a Kristiansand, nel Settembre 2023.

This week we kick off with a truly special episode of #foolksession starring Luigi Lai, the undisputed master of the launeddas. We caught up with him at the “Mare e Miniere” Festival alongside the presentation of Su Maistu, director Gianfranco Cabiddu's documentary dedicated to him. Taking our cue from the film, we chatted about the student-master relationship, the importance of never stopping your studies, and the incredible expressive potential of the launeddas.
