This week’s cover story is all about “Tomato Peloso”, a new release from John De Leo with the Jazzabilly Lovers – four excellent instrumentalists, joined for the occasion by Paolo Fresu and Rita Marcotulli. Together, they launch into a sonic adventure that moves through jazz standards, Elvis Presley classics, and psychedelic-ambient improvisations. De Leo discusses the project in the interview. Our musical journey through Italy continues with “Fuoritempo”, a double CD packaged with a beautifully produced book from the Caserta-based group Arianova, celebrating their 50th anniversary. The release revisits a broad selection of material rooted in the territory of Pignataro Maggiore and the historic area of Terra di Lavoro. That’s followed by “Alla Leggera – Canti Popolari Toscani, d’Amore e d’Anarchia” from Trio Tresca, a renowned band from Tuscany.
