Blogfoolk vi saluta dal WOMEX 23, di cui è media partner, e intanto presenta l’ultimo numero di ottobre, la cui cover story è “La Petite Naples [vol. 2]. Opération Sultan”, in cui il trio della chitarrista Roberta Roman, milanese di residenza parigina, rintraccia la tragica sorte del quartiere Saint-Jean a Marsiglia, abitato da numerosi emigranti napoletani, tanto da essere soprannominato “La piccola Napoli”, oggetto nel gennaio 1943 della deportazione da parte di nazisti e francesi collaborazionisti, per poi essere completamente raso al suolo. Un’azione riconosciuta come crimine contro l’umanità nel 2019. Proseguiamo con “Out Of The Blue” delle Las Lloronas, “Coplas Escondidas” di Sofia Rei e Jorge Roeder – disco consigliato della settimana – e “Just a Dream” di Daniele Tenca. Dall’Italia, ecco il “Grand Tour Vol.1” dell’Ensemble Sangineto. Raccontiamo poi la prima di “Ships” di Brian Eno, andata in scena al Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, a presentiamo la prima edizione del Festival Klezmer, che si svolgerà a Verona dal 4 al 5 novembre. Blogfoolk greets you from WOMEX 23, of which it is a media partner, and meanwhile presents the latest October issue. The cover story is “La Petite Naples [vol. 2]. Opération Sultan”, in which the trio led by guitarist Roberta Roman, Milan-born but Paris resident, retraces the tragic fate of the Saint-Jean neighbourhood in Marseilles, inhabited by numerous Neapolitan immigrants, so much so that it was nicknamed ‘Little Naples’. In January 1943, it became the subject of deportation by the Nazis and French collaborators, only to be completely destroyed. The action was recognized as a crime against humanity in 2019. We continue with Las Lloronas’s “Out of the Blue”, Sofia Rei and Jorge Roeder’s “Coplas Escondidas” – this week’s recommended album – and “Just A Dream” by Daniele Tenca. From Italy, you have Ensemble Sangineto’s “Grand Tour Vol.1”. We also cover the premiere of “Ships” by Brian Eno, which took place at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and introduce the first edition of the Klezmer Festival, to be held in Verona from November 4th to 5th.
