Editor's Note
Blogfoolk issue #427’s cover story is “Il Baule dei Suoni”, a splendid enterprise originated in Como province, which has been getting into music children, teenagers and adults for many years by helping them to find out and study Italian traditional music and music of the world. We have spoken to the founder, Giulia Cavicchioni, the life and soul of the association, who presented us the main actions taking place in Italy and abroad and their projects in the pipeline, not forgetting the albums which have been released. A juicy world music page offers the overwhelming “Jungle Run” by Nubiyan Twist, Lithuanian UDU’s "Buryatia Lithuania" and a focus on Danish nu folk, in which we review the latest releases by Vesselil (“Vesselil”), Trio Mio (“Polyglot Pike”), Floating Sofa Quartet (“Neighborhood”) and Mads Hansens Kapel (“Mor dig først, spørg bagefter”). From England, there is the brand new Martin Simpson’s achievement (“Rooted”). “In viaggio con Giovanna Marini”, edited by Xavier Rebut, book coming out with two CDs and a DVD, is the not to be missed reading of the week. For live music, first we take you to London’s Kings Place for the chronicle of “Celebrate Pansori”, then we propose the report from the 2019 edition of “PeM! Words and Music in Monferrato“. The songwriting column recommends “La Terra sotto i piedi”, Daniele Silvestri’s new album, while Valerio Corzani’s back cover features Vanessa Tagliabue Yorke.
