Nell’ultimo numero del 2025, Blogfoolk torna a mettere a fuoco uno dei suoi territori d’elezione: il dialogo tra saperi musicali, pratiche artigianali, ricerca sul campo e ascolto critico del presente. In copertina torna Cantieri Sonori, rubrica centrale del nostro progetto editoriale, con la videointervista a Marzouk Mejri, ben noto musicista italiano-tunisino, che ci accompagna nella costruzione del ney. Un viaggio nel cuore dell’artigianato musicale, approfondito anche attraverso una serie di pillole video che documentano le diverse fasi del lavoro: dalla scelta della canna alla misurazione, fino alle rifiniture finali. Il focus “Viaggio in Boemia” ci conduce invece nell’universo sonoro dell’ensemble Lidová muzika z Chrástu. Nell’intervista a Vojtěch Kouba emergono i nodi fondamentali della musica popolare ceca, tra continuità della tradizione e pratiche contemporanee di trasmissione. Ampio spazio alle recensioni discografiche, con “Forefowk, Mind Me” della scozzese Quinie – nostro disco consigliato di questa settimana –, “Running from the Devil” dei danesi Tone of Voice Orchestra e “Eclairer le monde – Light the World” della star senegalese Youssou N’Dour, che attendeva da un po’ troppo sulla nostra scrivania e non poteva di certo essere messo da parte. L’illustre firma di Simon Broughton è con noi per accompagnarci nel cuore del Hornbill Festival, al Naga Heritage Village di Kisama, Nagaland: un racconto sul campo che restituisce la complessità di un evento in cui musica, ritualità e identità culturali si intrecciano. A seguire, il resoconto del festival napoletano Sacro Sud, diretto da Enzo Avitabile. Torniamo quindi alle recensioni con “Come acqua di mare” dei salernitani Compagnia Daltrocanto. Dal nostro scaffale segnaliamo “BAUSCIA! Il ballo ambrosiano: forme improvvisative, musica e contesti”, a cura di Placida Staro, Romana Barbui, Michele Cavenago e Fabio Lossani. In our final issue of 2025, BlogFoolk Magazine returns to focus on one of its favourite themes: the dialogue between musical heritage, craftsmanship, field research, and a sharp ear for the sounds of today. Taking centre stage on the cover is Cantieri Sonori, a central column of our editorial project, featuring a video interview with Marzouk Mejri, who guides us through the construction of the ney. It is a journey into the heart of musical luthiery, explored further through a series of video clips documenting the various stages of the craft: from the selection of the reed to the measurements and the final flourishes. The “Viaggio in Boemia” (Journey to Bohemia) focus whisks us away to the sonic world of the ensemble of Lidová muzika z Chrástu. In the interview with Vojtěch Kouba, the vital threads of Czech folk music emerge, balancing the continuity of tradition with modern ways of passing it on. We have plenty of space for record reviews, featuring “Forefowk, Mind Me” of the Scottish artist Quinie — this week’s recommended album — as well as “Running from the Devil” of the Danish group Tone of Voice Orchestra and “Eclairer le monde – Light the World” from Senegalese star Youssou N’Dour, which had been sitting on our desk for a little too long and simply could not be ignored.
