Nei giorni in cui si è levata la polemica sulla scelta del Club Tenco di utilizzare come tema centrale dell’edizione annuale del Premio Tenco, la “canzone senza aggettivi”, #Foolkmagazine mette in copertina un disco di pura canzone d’autore: “Maqroll” di Federico Sirianni, ispirato all’opera omonima di Alvaro Mutis. Elisabetta Malantrucco lo ha intervistato approfondire questo splendido incontro tra musica e letteratura. Per le musiche folk e trad offriamo “Liberto Arbitrio” del piper Massimo Giuntini e del maestro delle corde Silvio Trotta. Proseguiamo con “Ansema We Stand” del contrabbassista lombardo-scozzese Roberto Cassani e con “Music For Tales Vol.1” di Cesare Pastanella. Ancora il legame tra poesia e musica in “I Am of Ireland: Yeats in Song”, progetto che ha coinvolto oltre trenta artisti del circuito della musica tradizionale irlandese e britannica nell’adattamento di poesie d W.B. Yeats. Ultima tappa alle Bahamas per “Encore: Unheard Recordings of Bahamian Guitar and Singing”, antologia di registrazioni inedite di Joseph Spence, pubblicata dalla Smithsonian Folkways. Nello spazio della musica dal vivo raccontiamo la XXVI 2021 del Festival Ethnos, mentre nella rubrica Vision & Music, Paolo Mercurio propone “Magister Petrus, giornate di musica e di studio dedicate a Pietro Sassu”. Segue la recensione di “Intertwined Roots” del trio NRG Bridges, comprendente Adalberto e Andrea Ferrari e Gianluigi Trovesi. Infine, la controcopertina di Corzani Airlines ha come protagonista Matt Elliott.

In the days when the controversy has risen over Club Tenco’s choice to use the phrase “song without adjectives”, as the central theme of the annual edition of the Premio Tenco, #Foolkmagazine’s cover story is a pure songwriting release, Federico Sirianni’s “Maqroll”, inspired by the Alvaro Mutis’ s work of the same name. Sirianni speaks to Elisabetta Malantrucco about this splendid encounter between music and literature. For folk and world music page we offer piper Massimo Giuntini and string maestro Silvio Trotta’s “Libero Arbitrio”. We continue with “Ansema We Stand”, the debut recording from the Lombard-Scottish double bassist Roberto Cassani, and Cesare Pastanella’s “Music For Tales Vol.1”.
