Editor's Note
Enjoy Eleonora Bordonaro s’ “Moviti Ferma”, our album of the month of June. A few years after “Cuttuni and Lamé”, the Sicilian songwriter publishes a brand new work whose oxymoronic title contains her cutting edge, out of the box approach to tradition. Elisabetta Malantrucco has spoken to the Paternò singer to get the story in her own words. From Sicily we get to Salento for “Di Pena and D'amore”, the teamwork between Marco Tuma and Rocco Zecca. There is the usual international world music crops of review presenting the excting “Strovilos”, Trio Tekke’s latest and “#fakenews” by Dubioza Kolektiv. Then, we meet Pekko Käppi's johuikko displayed in “Finnish Folk Songs Vol.1” and we return to La Rèunion Island for Vangasy’s “Gwendoline Absalon”. Alongside our records reviews you find the chronicle of Ramón Valle and Reinier Baas streaming gig at the Music Meeting Festival 2020 & De Vereeniging held in Nijmegen. For the jazz page we have our say on Marco Bardoscia’s “The Future is a Tree”, whilst for the contemporary music we offer “Mountains And Plains” from the Belgian Stubbleman. Finally, Carlo Marrale features in Valerio Corzani’s pic.
