Blogfoolk #368 opens with a focus on the section Cantieri Sonori (Sonic construction sites) entitled “The sound of bamboo: shakuhachi, transcultural instrument”, curated by Luca Gilberti. Among the most popular Japanese instruments, the shakuhachi flute it's strictly related to the philosophical and religious tradition of Buddhism. The historical framework and some organological notes are followed by an interview to the Texan musician and songwriter Riley Lee, first non-Japanese shakuhachi player to obtain the title of Shihan, Grand Master of Shakuhachi. The World Music column opens with the debut article of Edoardo Marcarini, new entry of the team, writing about the EP “Our Skin May Be Different, But Our Blood Is The Same” from the Tanzania Albinism Collective. We stay in Africa with the anthology “I'm Not Here To Hunt Rabbits”, on the unheard guitar styles of Botswana. Proceeding, the collection “Yayla: Musiche Ospitali” it's a double album whose revenue will help Centro Astalli, centre that for years has been offering services to refuges. The Italian journey continues with the analysis of “La Storia”, new release of legendary Otello Profazio. From Naples comes the eponymous album of the Napolitan all-female quartet SesèMamà.
