Questa settimana i riflettori di Foolk Magazine sono puntati su “Dodecagon. Arturo Stàlteri plays Philip Glass”, brillante omaggio al repertorio del compositore statunitense. Abbiamo raggiunto il pianista e compositore italiano Arturo Stàlteri per saperne di più. Dall’Irlanda arriva il disco consigliato della settimana, che è “Peggy's Dream” di Martin Hayes & The Common Ground Ensemble. Seguono le connessioni tra musiche anatoliche e musica barocca di “Sounds of Cycle" di Cenk Güray’s Baroque Miniatures. In Azerbaijan, quindi, per “Thank you for bringing me back to the sky”, una nuova session di registrazioni sul campo di Ian Brennan. Dagli States, ecco “Shadow Kingdom" di Bob Dylan e “Bits & Pieces” di Malcom Holcombe. Ultima tappa è il Brasile per “Sanzala e Favela” di Wilson da Neves. Per la musica dal vivo, offriamo la cronaca dal Festival Interceltique di Lorient. Trovate, poi, l’album eponimo del collettivo napoletano Psyché. In chiusura, Simone Bottasso è il protagonista dello scatto di Valerio Corzani.

This week on Foolk Magazine’s spotlight is “Dodecagon. Arturo Stàlteri plays Philip Glass”, a brilliant homage to the repertoire of the American composer. We hear from the Italian pianist and composer Arturo Stalteri to find out more. From Ireland it comes the recommended disc of the week, which is Martin Hayes & The Common Ground Ensemble’s “Peggy’s Dream”. This is followed by the connections between Anatolian music and baroque explored in “Sounds of Cycle” by Cenk Güray's Baroque Miniatures. To Azerbaijan, then, to listen to “Thank you for bringing me back to the sky”, another impressive field recording session carried out by Ian Brennan.
