Editor's note
Blogfoolk # 382’s cover story is "Orfeo Incantastorie", the new release of the multi-instrumentalist Raffaello Simeoni, an artist constantly interested in sound and timbric quest, who is also known as the leading voice of Orchestra Popolare Italiana. In the interview, the musician from Rieti leads us through the fascinating story of his double album interweaving musical traditions from central Italy, medieval monodies, polyphonic procedures, “Celtic” inflorescences, African and Indian calls, combined with contemporary languages. The Italian journey continues reaching Salento, where we hear “Maletiempu” by the couple Rachele Andrioli and Rocco Nigro. The last stop is in Sicily with "Akoustikòs Vol.1", which marks the return of the renewed band Agricantus, who have rearranged some pages of their historical repertoire in a mainly acoustic version. The world music page make us meet “Delâshena” by Shadi Fathi & Bijan Chemirani, masters of Persian art music. Another regular of Blogfoolk is the live music page; this week we report from the eleventh edition of “Premio Andrea Parodi”, an open window on world music scene staged in Cagliari from 8th to 10th November. There, Neapolitan band La Maschera won the Award, while the Cypriot trio Monsieur Doumani was given the Critics Award. Still, we have the chronicle of the Sibylla Folk Festival, held in Offida (AP) from 2nd to 4th November. Elsewhere, we propose a focus on "A New Chant", the comeback of the Italian progressive rock band Acqua Fragile, the review of “Entomology 2” by the Piedmontese Bandakadabra and "Your Own Self" by Garrett List. Our usual back-cover features Valerio Corzani’s pic, starring the Cape Verdean author and singer Elida Almeida.
