Apriamo Blogfoolk #369 con “Privé”, atteso ritorno degli Avion Travel, lavoro che ha preso vita a margine del Retour dello scorso anno con l’indimenticato chitarrista Fausto Mesolella nelle vesti di autore di alcuni brani. Abbiamo intervistato Peppe Servillo, frontman del gruppo casertano, per farci raccontare il disco, approfondirne i temi e le scelte musicali, senza dimenticare il rapporto con il palcoscenico. Dal Molise arriva “Una nuova storia” dei Patrios, settetto alla ricerca di nuove vie tra folk e istanze blues, funky e pop. Sul fronte world, “Deixaas”, quinto lavoro della dirompente polistrumentista e compositrice galiziana Mercedes Peón, rafforza il connubio tra sound contemporaneo e stilemi del nord-ovest iberico. Nel palinsesto ci sono, poi, il folk progressivo di “Midlands” dei siciliani Harundo e l’antologia “Folk From Estonia Vol.5”, edita da Nordic Notes. Per la musica dal vivo, proponiamo la cronaca dell'edizione 2018 dei Folk by the Sea Awards del Premio Nazionale Loano per la Musica Tradizionale Italiana, il resoconto della prima romana all’Isola Tiberina di “Fabulous Trickster”, il docu-film su Antonio Infantino, diretto dal compositore Luigi Cinque e il concerto che i SuRealistas hanno tenuto il 18 luglio al Club 55 di Roma. Completano il numero la recensione di “Threnody” di K. Leimer e la controcopertina è lo scatto di Valerio Corzani alle prese con il suonatore di kora senegalese Ablaye Cissoko.

We open Blogfoolk #369 with “Privé”, awaited return of the Avion Travel, work conceived during last year's Retuour with the guitarist Fausto Mesolella as author of some songs. We interviewed Peppe Servillo, frontman of the group from Caserta, to let him describe the record, go in depth with themes and musical choices, without forgetting about the relationship with the stage. From Molise we have “Una Nuova Storia” from Patrios, septet inspecting new paths between folk, blues, funky and pop. On the World section, “Deixaas”, fifth work of the explosive Galician composer and multi-instrumentalist Mercedes Peón, reinforces the union between contemporary sounds and stylstic features from North West Iberia. The schedule proceeds with the progressive folk of “Midlands” of the Sicilian band Harundo and the anthology “Folk From Estonia Vol.5”, edited by Nordic Notes. In regard to live music we offer a report of the 2018 edition of the Folk By the Sea Awards, Premio Nazionale Loano for traditional Italian music, the account of the Roman premiere of “Fabolous Trickster” at Isola Tiberina, the film-documentary about Antonio Infantino, directed by the composer Luigi Cinque, and finally the concert of SuRealistas, held on July 18th at Club 55 in Rome.
