Editor's Note
This week’s cover story is “Campo Armonico”, a record originated from the collaboration between pianist Livio Minafra and Austrian vibraphonist Roland Neffe, with the special participation of Michel Godard. At centre stage is the perfect interplay between the two instrumentalists, with each piece being the starting point for full-scale improvisations. We interviewed the pianist from Puglia to deepen this unprecedented meeting, without neglecting the live impact of the project. We continue our journey through world music with “Mill Hent - Mille Chemins”, the latest album by the Breton singer-songwriter Denez Prigent. From Finland, let’s dance to hump tempo with “Humppamania” by Eläkeläiset. Back to Italy for “Live in Aquinum”, MBL Orkestra’s live album. From Lazio we move to Campania to present “Siriana. PeZzi FaTti in CaSa”, the new offspring by Antonio Marotta. Last stop Boston for "Mediterraneo", the new album by Newpoli. The reading of the week takes us to the Apennines in Piacenza area, where the tradition of polyvocal singing is still alive as Giuliano d’Angiolin writes in his book “Il Coro di Farini. Canti Tradizionali della Val Nure”. For live music, Elisabetta Malantrucco gives an account of the fourteenth edition of the Premio Bianca d’Aponte, dedicated to women's singer-song writers, held on October 25th and 26th in Aversa (CE). Then, we review the reissue of Area’ s “1978 – Gli Dei se ne vanno, gli arrabbiati restano”. The back cover of Blogfoolk # 380 is Valerio Corzani’ pic starring Ibeyi, the French-Cuban twin sisters.
