This is Blogfoolk’s farewell to November reaching over 100,000 monthly readers. It’s a great achievement for our magazine willing to make information in times when people are proud of using discriminating and racist statements in the social media or preach puerile instances in form of tweets. Anyway, here it is # 384 palimpsest. The cover story is Blu L'Azard, a project originated in 2013 from the meeting of four instrumentalists from the Piedmont Alpine valleys, joined by their wish to investigate the dancing, musical and polyvocal traditions of the linguistic minorities of the western Alps. The “tradition in motion” of the quartet has given rise to an unique research and experimentation development, in which particular attention is paid to improvisation. Four years after “Enfesta”, their debut album, Blu L’Azard have published “Bal poetic”, exploring the possible connections between dance music and poetry. We interviewed Flavio Giacchero (voice, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone and bagpipes) to recount the story of the group, then to discuss their new release. The world music page displays “Aromanian Songs from Drenova / Kënge Arumune Të Drenovës”, curated by Josif Minga and Mikaela Minga, published by SquiLibri, a collection of songs and music from the Aromanian (Vlachs) communities of Albania. We move to Ireland to listen to “Ten Thousand Miles”, which marks the triumphant comeback of Danú. We head, then, to Germany for “Hands On The Puzzle” by the blues guitarist and producer Henrik Freischlander. Our book column offers Paolo Mercurio’s preview of the book with two CDS, edited by Renato Morelli, entitled “Canti popolari del Tesino. The registrazioni del 1977-1978 “, published by Nota. For live music section, we presents the chronicle of the showcase concert, held on 22nd November at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, for the release of the book "Vent’anni di Sessantotto", published by SquiLibri. It follows the review of the show of the bassist and composer Avishai Cohen, with Shai Maestro & Mark Guiliana, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the release of his milestone recording “Gently Disturbed”, a concert at London Barbican, which has been part of the program of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Next, is a special issue of Italian Sounds Good and a focus on contemporary music with “Imagori II”, the second album instigated by the encounter between Christoph H. Müller (Gotan Project) and Hans Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia, Aquarello, Qluster). Corzani Airlines’s back-cover portrays the bassist, guitarist, composer and producer Mario Rivera, one of the founding members of Agricantus.
