This week’s “Blogfoolk” show is full of tips for your music discovery. The opening page is dedicated to the irresistible signs of connections and crossings between cultures, places and sounds present in “Tebourba”, first full album of Fanfara Station, trio created by Tunisian multi-instrumentalist and singer Marzouk Majiri, American trumpet player Charles Ferris and DJ and producer Marco Dalmasso aka Ghiaccioli e Branzini. We bumped into Marzouk, travelling to Tunisia, to talk about the recent film documentary dedicated to him, “Vita di Marzouk” directed by Ernesto Pagano. “Volo Hazo” of Malagasy Guitar Masters testimonies the encounter between three generations of Malagasy guitar players, the young Chrysanto Zama, the versatile Joël Rabesolo and the elder Teta. Completely different music is enclosed in “Chinese Buddhist Temple Music”, proposed by three grand masters Bao Jian, Hu JianBing and Gao Hong, a record that holds four long compositions of Chinese monastic tradition. We return to the European folk of “Ankerdram” of Fru Skagerrak, Scandinavian violinists trio (Danish Maja Kjær Jacobsen, Norwegian Elise Wessel Hildrum and Swedish Anna Lindblad), and “We are Enkel” from the Finnish band Enkel. About live music, we deal with the third edition of Festival delle Ciaramelle and concert of Seun Kuti & Egypt 80's that close Dromos Festival, while from our shelf we picked the volume “Saggi Pop. Indagini sull’Effiero Essenziale Della Vita e Non Solo” from Claudio Sottocornola. The reviews schedule is completed by the collection “Le Corde Dell’Anima Live & Studio”, which explores the last artistic doings of Pino Daniele, and “Oltremare” from Raffaele Casarano. To conclude “Blogfoolk” number 371, Corzani Airlines takes us once again to Sacndinavia, with a snap-shot of Norvegian flutist Karl Seglem. This numeber is dedicated to Aretha Franklin and Claudio Lolli.
