Il disco del mese di dicembre è “Argon” di Michele Gazich, un’opera declinata in otto suite in cui si mescolano folk, rock e musica da camera, densa di poesia e di addentellati letterari, imperniata sul racconto del lavoro dell’artista. Nell’intervista, il songwriter bresciano ripercorre le tappe di questo suo nuovo disco. Il consueto nutrito sguardo sulle musiche folk & world offre “Now and Then (new sounds from an old world)” del quartetto rumeno Multumult, “Songs of Exile” dell’autore kabyle Abdelli, “At This Point in Time: Voices in Volumes” del contrabbassista sudafricano Herbie Tsoaeli e il disco consigliato della settimana, lo splendido “Le Bonhomme Sept Heures/The Bonesetter” dei canadesi Grosse Isle. Presentiamo, poi, la prima edizione del forum internazionale della world music Musiconnect-Italy, nel corso del quale Blogfoolk avrà il piacere di curare il panel “Cross-Generation Attendance at Traditional and World Music Festivals”. La pagina jazz presenta “Mappe per l’Eden” del Dinamitri Open Combo, mentre per la rubrica Strings ci occupiamo di “Azwan” del chitarrista Pierre Bensusan. Completano il numero la recensione dei due volumi di “Piazza Bassanese” di Luca Bassanese e il ritratto di Corzani Airlines con protagonista Leyla McCalla.

The album of the month of December is Michele Gazich’s “Argon”, an eight-suite record blending folk, rock and chamber music, dense in poetry and literary overtones, and revolving around the artist’s work. In the interview, the Brescian songwriter goes over the various stages of his brand new release. The panorama of folk & world music offers “Now and Then (new sounds from an old world)” by the Romanian quartet Multumult, Kabyle singer Abdelli’s “Songs of Exile”, South African double bassist Herbie Tsoaeli’s “At This Point in Time: Voices in Volumes” and our recommended album of the week, “Le Bonhomme Sept Heures/The Bonesetter”, the stunning album from the Canadian band Grosse Isle. Also, we present the first edition of the Musiconnect-Italy, an international world music forum, where Blogfoolk is pleased to chair the panel “Cross-Generation Attendance at Traditional and World Music Festivals”. The jazz page presents “Maps to Eden” by the Dinamitri Open Combo’s “Maps to Eden”, while in the Strings column you’ll find “Azwan”, the latest release from the guitarist Pierre Bensusan.
